Cute but gold wore off quickly

When I first got this ring, I thought it was really cute and I was happy with it. The website says it is 18k gold plated so I felt comfortable wearing it during the day but made sure to take it off when showering, washing hands, working out, etc. However, very quickly after purchasing, the gold has worn off and the ring band looks more silver than gold. This is really disappointing because I really liked the ring as a daily wear ring but now the band is silver so I barely wear it.
